Troop 305 is Carle Place's only Boy Scout Troop and has been in operation for over 75 years. Troop 305 is chartered through American Legion Post # 1718, Carle Place, New York and falls within the Rough Rider District of the Theodore Roosevelt Council fo the Boy Scouts of America.
Our Troop practices the Ideals of Scouting as embodied by the Scout Law, the Scout Oath, the Scout Motto as well as the Scout Slogan.
Since our reactivation, Troop 305 has consistantly qualified for the National Quality Unit Award or Centennial Quality Unit Award. This is an award give those units meeting ten stringent criteria.
We are also the proud recipients of the American Legion Troop of the Year award for 2008
All boys in Sixth Grade or above are welcome to join Troop 305. Skiing, white water rafting, snowboarding, hiking, camping, canoeing, swimming, archery, rock climbing, and of course, camping are some of the activities that our Troop is involved in.
Meetings are held on posted Friday starting at 7:30pm at the Cherry Lane School Cafeteria
Troop 305 follows the concepts of a "Boy Led Troop"…this Troop is for the boys and run by the boys with adult leadership providing guidance and assuring health and safety. Our goals are to have a great deal of fun and accumulate memories, skills and experiences that all will remember and utilize well into adult life.
Anyone interested in joining is welcome! No prior scouting experience necessary.
